Class Descriptions

*Classes may provide a health fund rebate if conducted by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, please check with your chosen health fund. 

EPIC

a form of high intensity interval training (HIIT), generally a circuit style clas but baries at each workout. Combines both cardio and strength components which is great for an all round workout and suitable for varied fitness levels.

CLINICAL REFORMER MATWORK*

using Pilates foundations, this session focuses on strength of core muscle groups which is suitable for those with back pain. This session is purely mat based exercises but utilizes chi balls, therabands and fitballs for additional demand.

HYDROTHERAPY*

sessions are conducted at the Atherton heated pool and involve a variety of aquatic exercises that are beneficial in improving generalized strengthening, cardiovascular fitness and improving range of movement of all joints. Equipment used during these sessions include water dumbbells, water ankle weights and swimming noodles.

SPIN

a 45 minute session that targets lower body strength and cardiovascular fitness that is conducted on the spin bikes, choreographed to music. Limit of 11 participants in this class.

HEALTHY HEARTS*

a circuit style class that is targeted at heart health and diabetes management. It combines resistance and cardiovascular based exercises and is specifically tailored to be suitable for over 50 years of age.

BALANCE AND STRENGTH*

this is  falls prevention program aimed at improving functional strength for the older populations and reducing their risk of falls. Various balance tasks are also included using a range of different equipment such as balance beams and pads, hurdles and exercise balls. Functional strength is also a focus to allow our clients to remain mobile and independent.

FUSION*

the components of a spin class that is interspersed with muscular strengthening components for a holistic working. Limit of 11.

P30 BURN

A high intensity based class using pilates fundamentals, advanced Pilates reformer exercises and the reformer jump board. This class also includes a variety of alternate cardiovascular exercises designed to get your heart rate elevated and your muscles burning. You will be grateful this class only goes for a duration of 30 minutes.

CLINICAL PROGRAMS*

small group rehab sessions conducted in our fully equipped, clinical rehabilitation gym. These sessions involve prescription of inidvidualized exercises that have been specifically prescribed based on the clients needs, abilities and injuries / condition. An initial assessment is required to allow the exercise physiologist to assess and develop an adequate exercise program. This session is designed for those who have pain, injury or a health condition and they are able to undertake exercises at their own pace while being supervised by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.

CLINICAL FUNCTIONAL REFORMER*

using Pilates foundations, the Pilates reformer machines are utilized for strengthening of core, upper and lower body. This session is also paired with matwork exercises using equipment such as chi ball, therabands and fitballs. This session is designed to be appropriate for an individual with back pain and there is a maximum of 8 participants which allows for modification or specially tailored exercise to suit individual abilities.

TEENS STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING*

small group sessions for teens to allow them to gain knowledge on adequate performance of exercise. These exercises are prescribed to either address an injury or condition, or specific fitness components that directly related to components required during their chosen sport. The class begins with Pilates foundations including core strengthening and followed by perfomrance of individually prescribed exercises under supervision by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
